Will their dreams be realized? An emotional video of IYD participant students from Palestine

Innovate your dreams 2019:

The project aims to help students understand and prepare for the jobs in the future. The project is based on a popular research which concluded that “65% of children entering primary school today will ultimately end up working in completely new job types that don’t yet exist.” During the project, 6-19-year-old students will also learn about industries that will be created in the future and the role of technology in transforming the world. The project will teach 3 out of the 17 United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) described in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (Quality Education, Affordable & clean energy, Industry, innovation & infrastructure).

My Magical Dust 2019:

The PBL project “My Magical Dust” aims to connect teachers & parents, school & communities
for the well-being of the students. This project highlights some of the major problems that pupils
face every day but are often neglected. For instance, depression and anxiety in young age
students and children are taking its toll, but the question is: how often do we actually pay
attention to their mental health and well-being?
The project also teaches 1 of the 17 SDGs “Health & well-being” described in the 2030 agenda
for Sustainable Development Goals by the United Nations.
The project allows students to demonstrate that they can have an impact on their
communities if we educate them to solve real-life problems. The project consists of 4 tasks and
emphasizes Cosmology, a branch of Astronomy, with the aim to introduce the students the
recent discovery of ’’the black hole’’ that enables them to take their imagination beyond it.
In the final task of the project, teachers and students are given the opportunity to
participate in an international video contest. It is not obligatory for all participants to take part
in the video contest but those who wish to participate must finish all other tasks of the project.
A handsome amount of money vouchers is awarded to the 1st position winning candidate.
The judges will be ELT experts from Oxford University, University of Barcelona and selective
members of “My Magical Dust”.
